Friday Night Lights is probably one of the best shows I've ever seen! Yes, it's that good. The series focuses on a handfulof highschool football players and the people who surround them. We get to follow their ups and downs and all their drama. It sounds a little similar to Degrassi I know, but it's the furthest thing from it. This show will literally have you felling 4 different emotions in only one episode. FNL is set in Dillon, Texas so it has that country feel to it. I'm not a fan of Football at all I'll be honest but I found myself rooting for Coach Taylor's team to win. Friday Night Lights will have you hooked from the very first episode I guarantee it. Netflix has the whole series which is 5 seasons.
Gossip Girl is basically like the opposite of Friday Night Lights in terms of the character types and where the show is set. Gossip Girl is about a group of filthy rich highschool friends or frenemies who live in the upper east side of Manhattan. The show doesn't only follow them as Highschoolers they go on to college as well. Now let's get into a big piece of the series, Gossip Girl is a website that pretty much follows these characters around and writes gossip posts about them whether they're good or bad, this mystery person also known as Gossip Girl knows their deepest darkest secrets and isn't afraid to post them up for the world to see. The group tries multiple times to take this person down and to even find out who he/she is. Wether they're successful or not I won't say but this is definitely a must watch! Netflix has the full series which is 6 seasons.
Scandal is another drama-filled show its probably the most dramatic one on the list! It's based on Olivia Pope and her associates who work in Washington DC. Olivia Pope is basically a lawyer who mostly represents the higher ups as in people of congress. Olivia comes with her own set of baggage as well but I won't get into that since I don't want to give too much away. The craziest things happen on this show and I mean the CRAZIEST! Every episode ends on a cliff hanger and keeps you guessing. Scandal is still airing on live TV but Netflix has Seasons 1-3 for those who need to catch up. I recommend this show to anyone who likes straight up, get to the point drama. Scandal will not disappoint you.Pretty Little Liars is a show I began watching when I was still in highschool so that's more than 2 years ago and the show is STILL airing, crazy right? PLL is about a group of 4 bestfriends. Their bestfriend Allison is murdered and with the police officers in their town not doing much to solve the murder they're left to pick up the pieces. As if that's not enough mystery they begin to be tormented by someone who calls themselves "A" which coincidentally is the same initial as their dead bestfriend's. This A person knows everything the girls are doing and everything they have done and isn't afraid to hold it against them any chance they get. The show is set in RoseWood, Pennsylvania which is a small town where everyone knows everyone. The only complaint I have about this show is that it seems to be dragging. PLL has literally been on for years and we have no clue who A is. It sometimes feels like the show is going in circles and circles which can be annoying. For someone who has never seen this show I would recommend to wait until the show is completely over and then watch the whole thing on Netflix. Right now however Netflix has seasons 1-4. Besides the long wait to find out who A is this show is soo good and is the most mysterious one on my list.
Hart of Dixie is one of those cute country shows in my opinion, I will admit I've only watched up until season 3 but the show still made it onto my favorites list. The series is about a New York girl who is starting a life in Blue Bell, Alabama. As you may have guessed it's probably not the easiest transition, it takes Zoe a while to adjust to life in the country. That's not her only problem however, she seems to have quite a lot of boy trouble the minute she gets there and with boy trouble comes girl trouble, Zoe feels as if she still needs to find her place in the world. We get to follow her on her journey to fitting in and feeling accepted. The show has apparently been canceled on live TV which sucks but Netflix has seasons 1-3.
I hope everyone gives atleast one of these shows a try, I promise you won't regret it!
Until next time, xoxo
